WAGNER COLLEGE, CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
WAGNER COLLEGE, MEGERLE SCIENCE BUILDING CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK
The renovation of the chemistry laboratory space was undertaken by PJA to remediate a deficiency is storage, hood space and workstations.
The laboratories were configured to promote interaction between students through shared utilities and storage areas. The larger space was divided into two distinct zones: a materials preparation area and a classroom space for lectures and experiments to take place. Air, gas, electric and vacuum outlets were moved to a central station and workstations were redesigned to allow students to work closely with lab partners.
The lighting solution features independent up and down light components, providing better illumination and reducing eye strain.
This project was featured in American School & University Magazine.
